It was a match of two teams going in different directions in the regular season girls volleyball finale.
For the Madera Coyotes, Thursday’s match honored three seniors — Mariah Davis, Makinna Malady and Erica Siegl — and prepared the Coyotes for the Div. I playoffs. It was also a bounce-back victory after a 3-2 loss Tuesday to the Bullard-Fresno Knights. The Coyotes defeated cross-town rivals Madera South in Joe Flores Gym in three sets and won the County/Metro Athletic Conference.
“We had some kinks we needed to iron out and close doors,” Coyotes head coach Robyn Royston said. “This was the most cohesive they have played in a while. It was a good way to finish out the season.”
The Coyotes, who were hoping for a first round home game after finishing the CMAC 9-1, received a No. 9 seed and will play at Clovis North on Tuesday at 7 p.m...
