Coyotes not enough for Grizzlies

The Madera Coyote boys volleyball team got better as the match went on, but it wasn’t enough in a 3-0 loss to the Central Grizzlies in Joe Flores Gym.

The Grizzlies only outscored the Coyotes by eight points in a non-league victory Thursday night.

The Coyotes also played without one of their setters, who had to attend confirmation practice for church.

“Henry (Montiel) did a great job for not setting in a while,” head coach Rhonda Jefferson said. “We just had too many mistakes. We got better every game.” ...
