Both teams tie for second in CMAC with 6-4 records
The Madera South Stallions girls volleyball team was coming off its biggest win of the season and was in a first place tie in the County/Metro Athletic Conference standings. The Madera Coyotes dropped two straight and fell a game back of the league leaders.
After five sets on Thursday, the Madera Coyotes came back for a 3-2 victory to move into a second place tie with the Stallions in the CMAC. Sanger defeated San Joaquin Memorial-Fresno to win the CMAC title, outright.
“We’ve had some disappointments with losing a big lead,” Madera head coach Robyn Keune said. “All of our losses have meant something.” We did not let down and stayed composed.”
Like the Coyotes two weeks ago, the Stallions’ stay at the top of the CMAC standings lasted one day. The Coyotes defeated Sanger on Oct. 23 to take the CMAC lead, but Madera lost its next two matches. On Tuesday, the Stallions beat Sanger and were tied at the top of the CMAC standings...
