Madera Coyote baseball coach Andy Underwood has been through the baseball ranks.

Underwood was a successful high school coach and then transferred his success to Fresno State and pitched in the minor leagues with the San Diego Padres. He has turned his contacts into providing top-notch coaching for up-and-coming baseball players.

He will be joined by seven former or current minor league players, including 2012 Southern League All-Star pitcher Gary Moran of the Mississippi Braves.

“Last year, we were able to get Jerome Williams (Los Angeles Angels) and we are trying to get him again,” Underwood said. “I am bringing in some guys from the Fresno State National Championship team. We are going to have a lot of local talent that has played college and pro ball.”...
