Coyotes hope to improve against Fresno

The Madera Coyotes will look to improve tonight on their performance against Dinuba last week as they face the Fresno High Warriors, a team that head coach Scott McKinney said he has intimate knowledge of.

“I have a tremendous amount of respect for him,” McKinney said of Warriors first-year head coach Rick Stewart. “I know what he wants to do on offense. Now, him executing it is another story.”

McKinney said he had spent time over the last year with Stewart, learning all about Stewart’s signature pistol wing-T offense while the Coyotes (0-1) trained. “We talked about his offense a great deal before we knew he was going to be the Warriors coach,” McKinney said. “We’ve installed some of the things I learned from him.”

Though some may worry that the shared knowledge between the two will provide Stewart with an edge during the game, McKinney remained confident...
