Without one of it most prolific scoring threats, the Madera girls soccer team had trouble finding the back of the net Thursday in a County/Metro Athletic Conference rematch with San Joaquin Memorial-Fresno.
Minus sophomore Destenie McMillon, the Coyotes (11-6-5, 3-2-1 CMAC) only scored once in a 1-1 overtime tie with the Panthers on a rainy night in Memorial Stadium.
Madera had beaten the Panthers, 3-0, in the CMAC opener on Jan. 8 before losing McMillon in that game to a season-ending injury.
“We had Destenie the first time we played against Memorial and she was definitely our most explosive offensive weapon,” Madera head coach Garrett Perez said. “We haven’t had her since that game and it’s been tough without her.”...
