Liberty wins consolation, victory eludes Coyotes
The Madera Coyote girls soccer team advanced to the Gold Division on Saturday at the Peggy Renberg Tournament after a 2-0 record on Friday.
The Coyotes split the first two matches, but lost to Frontier-Bakersfield in the Consolation championship match.
The Hawks, who played in the Silver Division on Saturday thanks to a 1-1 record on Friday, also lost their first match of the day before winning their final two matches to win the Consolation Championship.
“It was a long weekend,” Liberty head coach Eli Liuba said. “We have to rest on Monday and get ready for Madera South on Wednesday and the Garces tournament over the weekend.” ...
