Thursday marked another tough night for the Madera Coyote football team, as the County/Metro Athletic Conference leading Bullard Knights shut out the Coyotes 48-0.
Bullard (7-2, 4-0 CMAC), which celebrated its senior night at McLane Stadium, rushed out to take a 41-point halftime lead and never looked back.
The Coyotes (3-6, 0-4 CMAC) played well in the second half, limiting a Bullard offense with multiple weapons to seven points. But head coach Scott McKinney said he felt his team was lacking, particularly in the first half.
“It’s apparent that we aren’t playing with the same passion we had earlier in the year,” McKinney said. “Football is naturally a grind as the season moves along — perseverance is so important dictating where you want to go and who you want to be.” ...
