The Madera boys basketball team traveled to Fresno but in all three trips couldn’t come back with a victory in the 55th annual Holiday Invitation Tournament at Hoover.
“We struggled in this tournament and all-around we weren’t knocking down shots including our free throws,” Madera head coach Mike Hawkins said. “We shot under 50 percent from the free throw line. You can’t shoot that and expect to win games.
“It was a good tournament to see where we stand with the bigger schools. We were in a few tight games but if we could’ve shot better especially down the stretch maybe the outcome would’ve been different."
The Coyotes (6-5) ended the tournament with a 79-63 loss to Lemoore in the four-day tournament...
