Coyotes get ready for tough CMAC schedule

It’s finally CMAC time in Coyote country.

The Madera Coyotes football team, after three consecutive road trips totaling more than 700 miles, will again take their explosive athletic ability to an opponent’s home turf this week. However, in the words of head coach Bonner Cunnings, “thankfully it’s only to Fresno this time.”

The Coyotes (2-3) will take on a strong San Joaquin Memorial (4-1) squad to open County Metro Athletic Conference play, a team that Cunnings said was quite similar to his own.

“They’re running a pistol offense similar to ours,” Cunnings said of the Panthers. “They’re defensively similar to us too. It’ll be an interesting thing, with the same schemes, who will produce? The Coyotes, or the Panthers? Obviously we feel it will be us.” ...
