Despite losing of services of three players, the Madera Coyote boys volleyball team still had a rather easy time with the San Joaquin Memorial-Fresno Panthers.
The Panthers have had their troubles attracting players to the program. They are only fielding a varsity team this season. The Coyotes played Thursday’s County/Metro Athletic Conference game without Bryan Edmonston, Martin Pineda and Tashawn Ford because they missed practice with the flu.
However, the Coyotes did have the services of Michael Angell and were able to use Jose Pineda more than they have in the past.
Angell led the Coyotes with 14 kills. Pineda, who had been the libero, a defensive specialist, had to play in the front row because of the team’s absences. He responded with eight digs and five kills for the Coyotes...
