With the first half of the County/Metro Athletic Conference season over, the Madera Coyote and the Madera South Stallion softball teams are going in opposite directions.

Behind the right arm of Emily Martinez and the team’s short game, the Madera Coyotes handed the Stallions their fifth straight CMAC loss of the season while Madera improved to 4-1 and tied for first place with Bullard-Fresno.

“This game is a game of adjustments,” Madera head coach Judy Shaubach said. “The team who adjusts the quickest, good things happen to them. We had a little lay-off after the Easter Classic and were a little lethargic.”

The Coyotes will continue their run to another CMAC title today at Zimmerman Field against San Joaquin Memorial-Fresno. Madera South will begin the second half at Bullard…
