On any football team at any level, to accumulate nine personal fouls in a single game is almost unheard of.
But for the Madera Coyotes, it was a reality last Friday and though it wouldn’t keep them from sinking the Reedley Pirates for a 30-6 home victory, the mass of penalties was something head coach Bonner Cunnings called unacceptable.
“Sloppy play, just sloppy,” Cunnings said. “We’re glad that we got the win but we’ve got to get back to work. We have to fix those sputters, so much junk out there.”
