Coyotes end season with a dud

This was not the way Madera Coyote girls basketball head coach Jason Smith wanted his team to finish out the regular season.

Despite poor play, the Coyotes still had a chance to beat the Bullard-Fresno Knights. In the end, Madera couldn’t overcome Bullard’s Elbria Wooley, poor foul shooting and spotty officiating.

Wooley single-handedly kept the Knights in the lead with numerous offensive rebounds and 22 points with four 4-pointers for a 49-38 victory Friday night.

“Wooley just killed us,” Smith said. “She was the difference maker.” ...
