Last week, the Madera Coyote softball team was prepared to play two games to conclude the Buchanan Preseason Tournament against teams they hadn’t played against.
Then a rainstorm hit the Buchanan Softball Complex and forced tournament organizers to reschedule the tournament for Saturday. However, half of the 24 teams already had games or tournaments scheduled. So the Coyotes faced the Hanford Bullpups for a second time and the Buchanan-Clovis Bears for the first time.
However, the Coyotes will also play Hanford a third time next week at the Clovis Easter Classic on the same fields and have a doubleheader scheduled with Buchanan on Tuesday. Head coach Judy Shaubach wasn’t happy.
However, games will go on and the Coyotes picked up a 6-0 victory over Hanford and suffered a 3-0 loss to Buchanan despite outhitting the Bears, 7-3...
