VISALIA — After the Madera Coyotes scored 21 runs with one error in two wins Friday, theMadera Coyote softball team took a step backwards in a 4-3 loss to Centennial-Bakersfield in the third place game of the Redwood Softball Tournament on Saturday at Redwood High School.

Madera pitcher Jackie Anzaldo tossed a complete game and allowed just one earned run in the loss to Centennial, which has playoff implications this early in the season. Both teams are Div. I playoff teams and the Golden Hawks now hold the edge over Madera.

“We take two steps forward and one step back,” head coach Judy Shaubach said. “Emily Chavira hit the ball well with two hits.”

Chavira and Rita Solis each had two singles for the Coyotes...
