Coyotes dominate Sunnyside

Once the opening whistle blew in the game between the Madera and Sunnyside-Fresno girls soccer teams, the Coyotes were in attack mode and never backed down.

Led by freshmen Anissia Gonzalez and Karina Gil, Madera scored all of its goals in the first half Tuesday night in a 4-0 victory over the Wildcats at Memorial Stadium.

The Coyote starters certainly seemed in sync right from the start as they took an abundance of shots at the Sunnyside goal.

“In the first half, we had the majority of who we have been starting lately and we’ve been working on our chemistry,” Madera head coach Garrett Perez said. “So in that half, we really didn’t make any substitutions and wanted to continue what they’ve been learning at practice while putting it into play. We’ve had a tough time scoring as of late but we were able to get those goals early and that was a good thing for us.” ...
