In a season in which the Madera Coyote girls volleyball team won nine of its last 10 games to win the County/Metro Athletic Conference and went 2-2 against the Tri-River Athletic Conference, it looked like Madera was primed for a run in the playoffs.
However, after a stunning three-set rout, the Coyotes are licking their wounds and are looking forward to next season, where they return eight of their 11 players.
The ninth seeded Coyotes put down just 25 kills in the three sets of a 3-0 loss to the eighth-seeded Clovis North Broncos on Tuesday in the first round of the Div. I Central Section Playoffs.
