The Madera Coyotes softball team opened County/ Metro Athletic Conference play with two wins and hope to stay in the hunt for a third CMAC title in four seasons.
After recording a victory behind one of senior Alyssa Jantzen’s best games in the circle, the Coyotes begin the second week of CMAC today at Edison-Fresno and close out the week hosting the Bullard-Fresno Knights in what most expect to be the top challenge for the CMAC title.
“We’re on the right track,” head coach Judy Shaubach said. “We did a lot of positive things today. We hit the ball hard at times. Base running was a little suspect, but it got better. We’re getting ready.”
