Coyotes claim back-to-back CMAC titles

For the second straight year, the Madera boys soccer team had a chance to clinch the County/Metro Athletic Conference championship with a win over Bullard-Fresno on its Senior Night.

Last season the Coyotes (17-4-4, 7-1-1 CMAC) won the title outright with a victory over the Knights (10-10-2, 5-2-2), and repeated history Wednesday night in a 2-1 title-clinching win in Memorial Stadium.

With one league game remaining, the Coyotes earned their second straight CMAC championship under head coach Chris Baca.

“This is not just a great team but a great group of young men,” he said. “I told them that no matter what, win or lose, that I was still proud of them because of what they have done in the past few seasons.”...
