Coyotes bounce back to get split with Central

After getting drilled in the first game of a doubleheader against the Central Grizzlies, the Madera Coyotes bounced back for a 3-2 win to earn the split.

The Coyotes had just two hits in the first game, but banged out six in the second game on Tuesday at Central.

“We are a young team and have some tough opponents on our schedule,” head coach Judy Shaubach said. “I am proud of the girls at the way they played in the second game. After the way we played in the first game, we could have easily folded our tents and gone home.”

It was the tale of two games for the Coyotes. In the first game, the Grizzlies scored six runs in the first inning, all with two outs and all unearned. Central added three more in the second and third innings before Alyssa Jantzen got out of the fourth unscathed...
