Madera Coyotes

Bulldozed: In a 61-12 season-ending loss last week, the Madera Coyotes allowed 11 different Porterville players to rush for 425 total yards and seven scores. Panther running backs consistently and frequently broke through the interior into the Coyotes’ secondary and gave defenders fits in open space.

Chewing them up: True to his nickname, junior Coyote running back Jesus “Chewy” Jimenez had a great game on the ground as well, rushing 17 times for 193 yards and a score. Jimenez was one of the Coyotes’ few offensive bright spots a week after putting up 73 points in a win over the Hanford Bullpups...

Liberty Hawks

Shutting down, part 1: After allowing the Blue Raiders to drive 70 yards for a field goal on their first drive of the game, the Hawks defense shut down the Blue Raiders. They allowed only 30 more yards in the first half and forced Caruthers into turning the ball over on downs on four straight second half drives.

Shutting down, part 2: The Hawks had just three tackles for loss in the game (quarterback sack by Kendall Malone and Hunter O’Brion and two solo tackles from Chad Wallace). Wallace led the team with 11 tackles, including six solo tackles. Steven Clark added 10 tackles...
