Coyotes advance to face top seed in playoffs

After the reshuffling of the Central Section boys volleyball playoffs on Monday, the Madera Coyotes earned a home match and didn’t disappoint in a 3-0 victory over the Hoover-Fresno Patriots.

Madera was originally given the No. 11 seed and had to face fifth seed Clovis North for a fourth time this season. After a phone call and some straightening out, the Coyotes were given the No. 8 seed, right where head coach Rhonda Jefferson thought her team should be.

Hoover, who went 2-1 against the Coyotes this season, remained in the No. 9 spot and traveled to Joe Flores Gym on Tuesday and left with their season over after a 25-19, 25-17, 25-17 loss to the Coyotes.

The Coyotes were able to extend their season by two days, but their next match, tonight at 7 p.m., will be against top seed Clovis...
