Madera Coyote boys golf senior Andrew Medellin keeps the medals coming after a successful junior season.

Medellin capped his senior County/Metro Athletic Conference season with the individual championship. He shot a 75 last week at Madera Country Club and followed with a 78 at Riverside Golf Course on Monday to capture the individual championship by two strokes.

“I realized I won after the 15th hole of the second round,” Medellin said. “I was up four and let off the gas a little bit and still held on.”

As a team, the Coyotes finished 14 shots behind champion Bullard-Fresno for second. Medellin will be joined by Estevan Garcia, who shot an 87 and 81 at the North Area Championships, also at Riverside Golf Course...
