SANGER — With a possibility of challenging for the County/Metro Athletic Conference title hanging in the balance, the Madera Coyote girls basketball team got off to a slow start that it couldn’t overcome against the Sanger Apaches.
The Coyotes trailed by 10 early in the fourth quarter and by nine midway through the quarter and were able to cut the lead to one with 1:25 left in the game.
However, the Coyotes went empty on their next four possessions and took just one shot in a 50-48 loss Wednesday.
The loss dropped the Coyotes to 3-3 overall in the CMAC and a game behind Bullard-Fresno for second and three behind Edison-Fresno for the title. Madera hosts Edison tonight in Joe Flores Gym...
