Coed Summer Softball playoff champions

The Madera Parks and Community Services Summer Softball Coed Leagues concluded their season with playoffs late last week at the Sunrise Rotary Sports Complex softball fields. Champions were crowned in both the upper and lower divisions.

In the upper league playoffs, Bad Intentions — with a regular season record of 9-1 — defeated Going Deep 5-0 in the first semi-final. The second semi-final saw Young Guns beat Bros and Toes 15-5. In the championship game Bad Intentions came away victorious 14-6 over Young Guns.

The lower division semi-final games saw 4th Street Church of God, also 9-1 during the regular season, beat Mad Town All-Stars 13-6 and Madera Bike Shop defeat Whadda Catch by the score of 11-5. In the championship game 4th Street Church of God played strong defense and defeated Madera Bike Shop 11-3 to win the title.

The Parks and Community Services Department is taking registration at the John W. Wells Youth Center, 701 E. Fifth Street, for its fall softball leagues that begin the week of Oct. 6...
