Close races highlight two-night Harvest Classic

On the final night of the two-day Harvest Classic Kickoff at the Madera Speedway, there was plenty of racing entertainment not only on the newly paved asphalt, but on the track’s infield over the weekend.

Speedway fans were treated to some intense and exciting diesel tractor, multi-engine tractor and modified truck pulling competition in between races featuring the 410/360 Supermodifeds, USAC Sprint Cars, BCRA/USAC Midgets and NCMA Sprint Cars on Super Saturday Round No. 6 presented by Midland Tractor and John Deere.

A night after the local classes including the LunkerDaddy Late Models, Toyota Sedans, Hobby Stocks, MSTs, and 4- Bangers raced, especially in the 18 Second Bracket race, the open wheel cars did the same as Kyle Vanderpool (410 Super Modifieds), Audra Sasselli (USAC Sprints), Chad Nichols (USAC/BCRA Midgets) and Denny Burrell (NCMA) all had to fend off drivers to win their respective mains.

In the first 18 laps of the 360/410 Super Modifieds race, Vanderpool had trouble and fell behind the No. 32 car of Jim Birges before Birges retreated to the infield...
