City beats County in all-star game

CLOVIS — In the 59th annual City/County All-Star football game, it was Madera’s Michael Say, Madera South’s Christian Morales and Liberty’s Cody Sanders who were the chosen representatives for the Madera County schools.

Those three athletes took to the field to play with and against some of the Central Section’s best football players in the County’s 14-3 loss to the City team at Clovis High’s Lamonica Stadium.

Say — a first team all-County/Metro Athletic Conference selection who was a threat to score everytime he touched the ball this past season in Madera’s offensive attack — was primarily used a slot receiver for the County team which was coached by Steve Nelson (Fowler).

“It’s just an honor to represent the community and the (Madera Coyotes) team,” Say said. “It was real fun to play in this game.” ...
