Thirty-eight teams from across the state will convene at Madera South High School on Friday and Saturday for the fourth annual Chukchansi Invitational.
The 38-team tournament will feature the state’s fourth (Gilroy) and fifth (Bakersfield) teams in the state as well as Madera South and Madera high schools.
“It’s a good measuring stick,” Madera South head coach and tournament director Jason Gaeth-Pearce said. “You want to see how well you stack up to those kids.”
Along with the Madera schools, Edison-Fresno, Sanger and Reedley will wrestle from the County/Metro Athletic Conference. Buchanan-Clovis, Clovis East and Central-Fresno will represent the Tri-River Athletic Conference. Each of the Visalia schools are also entered into the tournament (Mt. Whitney, El Diamante, Redwood and Golden West)...
