Chavira helps Montreat

Former Madera Coyote Ashley Chavira and the Montreat College (N.C.) Cavalier women’s basketball team finished up the Appalachian Athletic Conference in fifth place at 11-7 and 20-9 overall.

Chavira played in all 28 games and averaged 6.2 points per game. She was third on the team in 3-pointers and percentage (.370) and also shot 43 percent from the field. She pulled down 101 rebounds.

The sports season is now shifting to spring sports. There are approximately 25 former Madera, Madera South and Liberty athletes playing college baseball and softball. There are also a handful running track and participating in other sports. Listed below are the athletes The Madera Tribune has been able to track down.
