In an event where young race fans were treated to an abundance of fun activities off the track, it was a 14-year-old driver who stole the show on it Saturday at the LoanMart Madera Speedway on Valley Children’s Night presented by JBT Foodtech featuring Spears SRL Southwest S2 Tour Series, LunkerDaddy Limited Late Models, MST’s, Hobby Stocks, Toyota Sedans, 4-Bangers and the track’s own 18-Second Bracket.
In the headliner event of the night, Ryan Cansdale, of Laguna Beach, won the electrifying 40-lap main and was the top qualifier in the class with a time of 15.943.
“It feels amazing to win on a night like this and I think its kind of a coincidence that I won with me racing against the older drivers,” Cansdale said. “I’m just so happy that I won because I’ve been racing in the points and pretty much every race is important.”
