First-year head coach Tim DeRuyter said his charge to the team leading up to Saturday’s game versus Weber State at 7 p.m. in Bulldog Stadium will be the same as it was the first day he stepped on campus: to play fast, physical and fanatical.
DeRuyter said that message will not change based on the perceived skill of the opposing team.
“It doesn’t matter who we play, that is how we’re going to play,” DeRuyter said. “We hold ourselves to our own standard and we will do that every week.
“I want our guys playing with their hair on fire. You still have to play smart. You can’t be so emotional that you can’t think, but I want our guys right on that edge.” ...
