Bullard flexes muscle against Stallions

In order to topple the top team in the Central Section, the Madera South Stallion boys basketball team needed a near perfect performance.

Unfortunately, the Stallions didn’t achieve that performance. They committed 37 turnovers and made just 10 field goals in a 69-27 loss Wednesday night to the top-ranked Bullard-Fresno Knights at Madera South.

“There’s a difference between the athletic level that they have and the athletic level we have,” head coach Jody Sharp said. “I was proud of the kids. They battled tonight. You can’t make as many mistakes as we made in the half court set. You have to put the ball in the basket to give us an opportunity.”

The Stallions shot 26 percent (10 of 38) from the field and scored just 10 second-half points...
