FRESNO — In its first action in County/Metro Athletic Conference play, the Madera South football team had a tough time stopping Bullard-Fresno’s ground game.
The defending Division I section runner-up Knights (4-2, 1-0) rushed for seven touchdowns Friday night in a 59-0 Homecoming win over the Stallions (0-6, 0-1) at McLane Stadium.
“They were just bigger, stronger and more experienced than us,” Stallions head coach Scott Donegan said. “They are definitely one of the best, if not top, teams in the league.”
Clovis North junior transfer Trenton Barnes set the tone on the game’s first play from scrimmage at the Bullard 34-yard line. Barnes took the handoff from quarterback Niko Pacheco and busted a Stallion tackle before racing 66 yards to the end zone to make it 7-0 just 15 seconds into the game...
