VACAVILLE — There is certainly no quit in the Madera Bobby Sox 10-under All-Stars team and it showed in the 50th annual Tournament of Champions.
Madera made a strong push for the title in the two-day double elimination tournament but fell one run short in Monday’s championship game against NV Milpitas in Vacaville. In the tournament, Madera finished 4-2 which included three thrilling one-run victories.
In a rematch against a Bakersfield team that eliminated Madera in the Regional Qualifier at Lions Town & Country Park on July 15, Madera got its revenge with an 8-7 victory in Saturday’s tourney opener.
