After finishing the Selma Kiwanis Tournament over spring break in fourth place, the Liberty Hawks baseball team continued its winning ways with victories over Washington Union-Easton and Yosemite-Oakhurst in North Sequoia League action.

The Hawks used a five-run second inning to take control against the Panthers on Tuesday. Tyler Cookson tossed a complete game three-hitter for the 6-2 victory.

However, it was a seven-run seventh inning Wednesday against Yosemite that highlighted the week for Liberty head coach Martin Carvahlo said.

“We had some success over spring break and we were able to carry that over this week,” he said. “I was pumped after we got the win over Yosemite.” ...
