Triumph Volleyball Academy and founder Steve Guglielmana, the Madera South Stallions boys volleyball coach, will host the Valley’s first-ever beach volleyball championship tournament Thursday at the Triumph Volleyball Academy courts.

Four travel teams representing four different high schools will participate in the closed tournament at the courts at 7177 Road 29 1/2 in Madera.

“It’s a friendly competition among friends who have sand volleyball courts,” Guglielmana said. “It’s like my guys against your guys. This is to have competition within the camps and clinics.”

Along with Madera South, Buchanan-Clovis, Bullard-Fresno and Clovis High School travel teams will play, beginning at 3 p.m. Teams will play a round robin tournament on all six sand volleyball courts...
