The Madera Coyotes remained winless in County/Metro Athletic Conference play after a suspenseful 45-37 defeat at the hands of the Sanger Apaches Friday night — a game that the Coyotes led by two scores with a little over seven minutes left.
The Coyotes (3-4, 0-2 CMAC) came into the game after a loss against San Joaquin Memorial that was decided in the last 12 seconds by a 44-yard missed field goal.
Against the Apaches, (6-1, 2-0 CMAC), Madera was on the attack after sophomore running back Jesus Jimenez capitalized on an Apache turnover, thundering through at least four tacklers for a 15-yard rushing score at Tom Flores Stadium in Sanger.
