Alumni dinner unites past, present

Madera head football coach Scott McKinney has a goal of bringing former Coyote football players back to the program that they were instrumental in building. And Friday night, the past will meet the present at the Madera Coyote Players Alumni “Stag” Dinner.

“I’m really pleased with how many former players have come forward to support the program and this night should be a great opportunity to come together as a Coyote football family,” McKinney said. “I’ve always felt like we should celebrate those who built the program and this will continue, not just at the dinner, but into the future.”

Players who span more than 60 years will be on hand to celebrate and support the Coyote program, including Richard Rigby, the 1948 Madera quarterback who went on to play at Cal, along with players from the 1966 team, five DaSilvas and some Hall of Fame inductees such as Allen and Alex Smith along with Robbie Sordi.

Many other former players are also attending in what should be a tremendous coming together to enjoy the company of other Coyotes and usher the program into a new era...
