Aguirre wins Smokey Hanoian Classic

With a newly revamped track surface, there was plenty of close racing as the Madera Speedway hosted the Smokey Hanoian Classic presented by Allied Storage on Saturday.

The races featured the LunkerDaddy Late Models, Hobby Stocks, MSTs, Toyota Sedans and 4-Bangers which totaled 140 laps of suspenseful racing. Three qualifying track records were also set on the speedway’s new surface.

Jason Aguirre won the 40- lap main in the LunkerDaddy Late Models race. Aguirre had to work for his win as Ray Mayer and Rusty Robertson didn’t let up in the five-car race.

“It was a tight little race between the three of us, Rusty and Ray each ran really well in their cars,” Aguirre said...
