Led by sweeper Ana Walker, the Madera South Stallions pushed their weight around in a 2-0 victory over Madera in the girls soccer version of the Stadium Road Showdown.

Walker was physical with the Madera attackers and that left the Coyote players shell-shocked in the second half of Friday’s match.

“We’ve been weightlifting all year and they just bounce off of us,” said Walker, the reigning North Yosemite League Defensive Player of the Year. “That’s how we play, to be physical and aggressive.”

The Stallions got a goal in the ninth minute and the 37th minute of the first half to put the game away...
