It was the sound of bat against ball Saturday morning at Lions Town and Country Park as the city held its initial T-ball clinic.
The clinic also served as the final day of registration for the program. More than 600 youth have registered for the season, which begins April 27. Upon registration, each child will receive a baseball cap with a major league logo after teams and coaches have been assigned.
The clinic, like the registration, was open to boys and girls ages 4-8. Those 4-5 and 6-8 years old were taught baseball basics in separate age-appropriate sessions by varsity players from the Madera South High baseball team.
