This year’s dinner/dance will be Oct. 12. Tickts are $30 and can be purchased at Madera and Madera South high school athletics offices.

The floors will be shined, the yard will get cleared and Madera Glass and Auto Body Shop, 105 E. Central, prepares to host the fifth annual High School Athletics Dinner/Dance fundraiser on Oct. 12.

The dinner will begin at 6 p.m. at the shop and will follow the same format as the year’s past.

There will be a live, silent and dessert auction, in addition to a dee jay to allow dancing throughout the night.

Members of the 20/30 club will be serving drinks with proceeds also going towards each school’s athletics departments.

Athletic teams from Madera and Madera South can submit items for the auction and they will receive the proceeds.

“This is a team effort between all of us,” said Dustin Pipes. “We’re at about 500 people this year. We had a little less last year, but we also raised more money.”

Both school athletic departments and teams have submitted items for bid at the silent auction, live auction and dessert auction. All proceeds from those sales will go directly to those sports teams.

Tickets can be purchased from team members, Madera and Madera South athletic departments or by calling Madera Glass and Body Shop at 674-8559.
