Madera County Sheriff's Log: March 5-10

The Madera County Sheriff’s Department reported the following incidents.

March 5

5:06 a.m. — Deputy was dispatched to the 160000 block of Road 26 in Madera regarding a kitchen motion alarm at a business. Upon arrival a broken window was found and signs of entry were located. An investigation was conducted and evidence was obtained. A report was written.

1:40 p.m. — Deputy was dispatched to the Madera County Sheriff’s Office lobby location in the 2700 block of Falcon Drive in Madera for a report of a possible identity theft fraud that allegedly occurred from a residence located in the 2800 block of Oregon Avenue in Madera. The case was forwarded to detectives.

March 6

1:07 p.m. — Deputy was dispatched to the 26000 block of Ellis Street to investigate an allegation of child abuse. A general incident report was generated for documentation, and the case was closed.

March 7

11:33 a.m. — Deputy responded to the 23000 block of Las Palmas Avenue in regards to marijuana cultivation. The case was forwarded to the narcotics unit.

4:25 p.m. — Deputies responded to the 13000 block of Avenue 25 in Chowchilla to investigate a report of a family disturbance. An investigation was conducted and it was found that a subject had committed battery and vandalism. Subject was subsequently arrested. The case is to be forwarded to the Madera County District Attorney’s Office for charges to be filed.

March 8

11:43 p.m. — Sheriffs office attempted to conduct a traffic stop near Madera Avenue and CA-99 in Madera. The traffic stop turned into a vehicle pursuit that ended near SR-99 North of Avenue 21. The driver was taken into custody and charged with several misdemeanors and felonies. The case was forwarded to the Madera County District Attorney’s Office for changes to be filed.

March 9

5:02 p.m. — Deputies were dispatched to a confidential location regarding a domestic incident. The victim advised that her boyfriend, with whom she lives, choked her and grabbed her by the mouth with his hands pulling her to the floor. The suspect was arrested and transported to Madera Department of Corrections without incident. Report referred to District Attorney’s Office for charges to be filed.

7:39 p.m. — Deputy responded to Madera Community Hospital Emergency Room for a report of an animal bite. A report was taken and forwarded to Madera County Animal Control for follow up. The case was closed.

March 10

8:44 p.m. — Deputy responded to the 26000 block of Old Mill Drive in Madera regarding a juvenile who ran away from the location using an Uber Ride Share. The information was obtained and the juvenile was entered into MUPS. The case was forwarded to detectives for further investigation.
