Maderan earns TKO in Combate Américas

Courtesy of Combat es Americas Madera’s Zoila Frausto delivers a punch to Jaimee Nievara during the Combate Americas “Mexico vs. USA” fight card. Fruasto’s fight was the co-main event and she defeated Nievara with a TKO less than two minutes into the match.

Zoila ‘The Warrior Princess’ Frausto only needed a minute and fifty-two seconds to dominate her opponent, Jaimee ‘Queenie’ Nievera, at the Save Mart Center in Fresno last weekend.

After a three-year hiatus, Frausto, a Madera High School alum, shook off rust and dominated to earn a TKO victory in the first round of the Combate Americas “Mexico vs. USA” fight card.

“Everything was perfect. It all turned out way better than I could’ve imagined,” Frausto said. “Everything from where the fight was and how it ended. There were no injuries in camp, it was just a great experience for sure. Especially to come back home like that.”

Fruasto pinned her opponent against the cage, before using Nievera as a punching bag.

As Frausto punished her opponent, she sensed a softened stance. She fired a devasting knee into her opponent just before the two-minute mark in the first round, ending her night.

“She was a tough opponent she had been around for a while. I knew she’d be tough, and she had fought a few of my teammates and even my sister,” Frausto said. “I knew her very well, but I don’t think anyone could’ve beaten me that night as I was more than ready to fight anybody.”

That shouldn’t come to anyone’s surprise. Frausto is known for fighting anybody and anywhere and for her, once she has her mental side of the fight ready and raring to go, good luck to anybody in her way.

After her win last Friday, Frausto is already looking for her next opportunity to showcase her skill. She is planning a fight at the moment.

“We’re working on a fight right and, hopefully, it’s in eight or 10 weeks,” Frausto said. “It’s looking like it will be in California also. It’s a quick turnaround, but I don’t have any injuries so I’m ready to go.”

If Frausto can get another fight in California, she will have her friends, family and supporters all behind her. Like in Friday’s fight, having the ability to put a smile on their face with a top performance will make any fighter happy.

“It was great to see the smiles on their faces,” she said. “They were so happy to see me win the way I did, and it was an all-around great experience. I was so happy to do that for them and do that for myself as well.”
