Madera County Sheriff's Log: Dec. 10-16

The Madera County Sheriff’s Department reported the following incidents. Dec. 10

2:12 p.m. — Deputy was dispatched to the 2700 block of Falcon Drive in Madera regarding a residence burglary with a gun stolen from the 16000 block of Monreal Road. Follow-up was conducted and a report was written. Dec. 11

12:13 a.m. — Deputies were conducting pro-active checks in the 35000 block of State Route 41 in Coarsegold when a suspicious vehicle was located in the parking lot of a business. Deputies had been briefed on several crime reports where vehicle were being broken into and gas being stolen. After the subject in the suspicious vehicle had been contacted it was determined that he was actively siphoning gas from vehicles. He was taken into custody and it was later determined he took his mother’s vehicle without her permission. Subject was transported to Department of Corrections on several misdemeanor charges.

6:40 p.m. — Deputies were dispatched to the 40000 block of Meadow Vista Drive in Oakhurst regarding a female juvenile who was found in bed with an adult male at a homeless encampment. The juvenile was located and turned over to detectives for further investigation. Several items of evidence were located at the encampment and were later collected and booked into evidence. Case forwarded to detectives for further investigation Dec. 12

6:06 p.m. — Deputy responded to the 8000 block of State Route 41 in Madera regarding two suspicious persons in the neighborhood attempting to sell goods and services. The two subjects were located and found to have out-of-county misdemeanor warrants for their arrest. Both were arrested and then released on scene with citations to appear in court.

6:50 p.m. — Deputy was dispatched to the 21000 block of Road 6 in Chowchilla regarding a juvenile being extorted for money over a sexual video on social media. The case was forwarded to detectives for follow up investigation. Dec. 13

12:11 a.m. — Deputy was dispatched to the 40000 block of Brickyard Drive in Madera regarding a report of a bomb threat being sent by email. The investigation determined the bomb threat was not credible and there was no threat to the business.

Dec. 14

9:49 a.m. — Deputies responded to the area of Avenue 10 and Road 34 in Madera for a report of vandalism. Farm equipment and property were damaged and destroyed on the property. There were no leads or suspects. The case will be closed due to lack of investigative leads. Dec. 15

11:59 a.m. — Deputy was dispatched to the 16000 block of Karen Road in Madera regarding a female subject possibly being truck by a vehicle. An investigation was completed and a report written. The case was forwarded to District Attorney’s Office for a review of charges filed. Dec. 16

5:07 p.m. — Deputy responded to the 41000 block of Avenue 11 in Madera regarding a report of a juvenile out of control biting family members. The juvenile was placed on a mental health hold.

9:43 p.m. — A vehicle stop on Road 416 in Coarsegold led to the arrest of two local men for a variety of weapons related charges as well as arrests for two warrants and driving without a license. The vehicle was towed.
