Madera South’s Joseph Rivera looks for an advantage during a 10-0 victory over Hoover on Monday. Rivera scored the sixth goal in the match.

The Madera South Stallions boys soccer team scored so many goals that it left many fans without much time to grab corn from the concession stand.

The Stallions scored 10 goals while the concession stand ran out of corn at the half in a non-league victory over the Hoover-Fresno Patriots on Monday.

Jose Chavez and Abraham Vasquez each scored two goals while six other players scored goals in the win. Six different players recorded assists.

The Stallions scored five goals in the first half and five more in the second half while the center official ended the game, mercilessly, with two minutes still left in the match.

Chavez scored his two goals in less than a minute just two minutes into the match.

In the second minute, Christian Garcia, who recorded three assists, got the ball in the middle and slid it to David Vasquez on the left. He crossed the ball to the middle and Chavez was there for the easy finish.

Before Hoover could get its bearings, Chavez attacked and scored again. On the ensuing kickoff, Chavez stole the ball from a Hoover player on the Hoover side of the field. He went to his left and slotted the ball inside the left post for a 2-0 lead.

Three minutes later, Garcia got the ball in the middle off a throw-in. He sent a pass behind him for Barriga. Barriga settled the ball and sent a 35-yard shot into the upper right corner for a 3-0 lead.

Eight minutes later, Madera South added another goal. Christian Meza got the ball on the left and crossed the ball in front. Abraham Vasquez came in and headed the ball into the right corner.

Midway through the first half, Chavez took the ball to the end line. He sent it back to the front of the goal where Vasquez shot the ball into the right corner for a 5-0 halftime lead.

It only took the Stallions three minutes after halftime to add to their lead. Joseph Rivera got the ball from Garcia in the middle. Rivera got the ball in front of the Hoover goalkeeper and sent the ball into the left corner.

Two minutes later, Garcia got the ball in the middle of the field. He touched the ball to his left for Carlos Cardenas. Cardenas gathered the ball and launched a 35 yard shot that found the upper right corner of the net for a 7-0 lead.

In the 10th minute, Luis Diaz sent a corner kick to the goal. The ball went behind the goalkeeper and Albert Vega knocked the ball into the empty net for the eighth goal of the match.

Three minutes later, Cardenas got the ball on the left. He sent the ball to the middle for David Salas. Salas slotted the ball into the right corner of the net for a 9-0 lead.

In the 25th minute, the Stallions scored their final goal of the match. Diaz got the ball in front off a pass from Vega on the left. Diaz sent a shot past the keeper for the 10-0 victory.
