Welcome to Almost Maine, a place that’s so far north, it’s almost not in the United States. It’s almost in Canada. And it’s not quite a town, because its residents never got around to getting organized.

One cold, clear, winter night, as the northern lights hover in the star-filled sky above, the residents of Almost Maine find themselves falling in and out of love in unexpected and hilarious ways. Hearts are broken, and mended — almost-in this midwinter night’s dream.

Madera South Theatre Company, under the direction of veteran drama teacher Ginger Latimer, has selected this John Cariani play for its fall production. It opened Thursday, Nov. 1, and will continue with performances on Nov. 2, 3, and 4 and Nov. 7, 8, 9, and 10. Show time is 7:00 p.m.

A matinee is scheduled for Nov. 3 at 2:00 p.m.

General admission is $10. Senior admission is $7, and student tickets are $5. The play will be performed at Madera South High School Theatre, 705 West Pecan Ave. For more information, please call 675-4450 or 706-4954.
