Deputies detain burglary suspect
Madera County Sheriff’s Department Madera County sheriff’s deputies detain burglary suspect Carlos Castro after being dispatched to a vacant home.
A burglary suspect was nabbed by sheriff’s deputies last week as they responded to a possible burglary in progress.
On. Sept. 13, the deputies were dispatched to a vacant home in the 6000 block of Highway 145 in Madera County.
Upon arrival at the scene, Deputy Jacob Cox, Deputy Donald Babineaux, and Sergeant Jason Clark located three individuals standing near a parked pickup truck in front of the residence.
During the course of the investigation, it was discovered that one of the subjects, Carlos Castro, was on active probation out of Madera County and subject to search terms. Based on these terms, Castro was detained and deputies conducted a search of the vehicle. During the search, various burglary tools and methamphetamine paraphernalia were located.
Castro admitted ownership of the tools, and was subsequently arrested and taken into custody.
Another subject, Bobbie Nelson, was cited and released for an active misdemeanor warrant out of Madera County.
Castro was transported and booked into Madera County Department of Corrections without incident for an unrelated active misdemeanor warrant, and misdemeanor charges of possession of burglary tools and violation of probation.
