GOP Women confer scholarships on 8

Eight $500 scholarships have been awarded to college-bound seniors who graduated this academic year from Madera County high schools.

Three of the scholarship recipients were present at the Madera Republican Women Scholarship Dinner on Thursday, June 21, where members got to know them during an “interview” session.

The scholars received Certificates of Recognition awarded by State Sen. Anthony Cannella and Assemblyman Frank Bigelow.

The other 2018 recipients of Madera Republican Women scholarships are: Segrario Garcia, Dollars For Scholars; Kimberly Vaca, Madera South High School; Benjamin Johnson, Minarets High School; Hailey Rousey, Sherman Thomas High School; David O’Brien, Yosemite High School; and Ranveer Aulakh of Madera High School, who received the Carol Lawrence Memorial Scholarship.
